I Survived A Marathon! No, Not That Kind… (Ultimate Captain America Marathon)

Yesterday I attended the Ultimate Captain America Marathon at a local Regal theatre! It was a 5 film marathon featuring Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, Winter Soldier, Age of Ultron, and than Civil War! This post will mainly be about the marathon itself and not Civil War thoughts. I honestly need to see it again to gather all my feels. But yeah, about the marathon! I’m so glad I was able to attend. Originally they weren’t bringing it near me since it was more than 3 films, so when they announced they a local Regal would be doing it, I snatched up tickets faster than Pietro runs. I was so excited to see some of my favorite films again on the big screen, especially Winter Soldier!

We got to the theatre about an hour and a half early. Based on the Star Wars marathon, we knew the earlier the better. Turns out the theater wasn’t *as* prepared and we didn’t end up getting seated until 30 minutes before The First Avenger started. Once in, we got comfy and prepared our feels for an entire marathon of Captain America! I really loved seeing The First Avenger on screen again cause Bucky/Cap/Peggy feels. I always seem to notice something new, mainly character development. I will admit, I did fall asleep for like 10 minutes at one point due to only have 2 hours of sleep beforehand. Sorry, Cap!

Our medal for doing the marathon!

Next was The Avengers which is always a classic, than Winter Soldier (which I was most excited about), Age of Ultron (gets better with each viewing), and than CIVIL WAR! I think I enjoyed seeing Winter Soldier on screen the most out of them all mainly cause it’s my favorite MCU film and Bucky. But than Civil War happened. I’ll save all my Civil War thoughts for later cause I have so many, but I will say that the marathon went by really fast. Star Wars felt like it went on for forever (in a good way), but this time it felt as if we’d just arrived by time we’d left. Which I guess is a good thing, but I honestly didn’t want it to be over with. It was just so much fun! I really hope they do another marathon for the next Cap film cause I’ll so be there. Oh and did I mention that there was a merch stand at the end of the film? No? Cause they had exclusive merch! I may have got a few things. Oh and the theater even had some popcorn buckets and a cup!

Got the one featuring them all!

All in all, it was a perfect day. I really enjoyed spending the day with all my MCU friends. I just really need to go see Civil War again. And again. And again. Also I need Infinity War and Black Panther ASAP. Now to figure out how to write up my Civil War thoughts… Hmmm…

I’m Going Back to Wizard World Philly!

IT’S TRUE! I will be attending Wizard World Philadelphia yet again this June for a weekend extravaganza with friends and the Marvel cast! (Yes, you read that correctly!) Last week, Tuesday to be exact, Wizard World announced that Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Hayley Atwell, Dominic Cooper, and TOM HIDDLESTON would be coming to Philly. I read this email (That Barb sent me, so thank you, Barb!) with so much excitement as we hurried to get my wisdom teeth pulled out and within 5 minutes me and my mom had bought a Tom Hiddleston VIP package. And Deidre has bought one as well. And Barb bought the WS one. We’re Marvel trash to the extreme you guys. By the end of the day we’d already have gotten our hotel and everything and had roped in our other friends (Brit and Katy!) to go as well! (Keyword: Extreme)

So this is now a thing that is happening in June. And not only did we buy the Tom Hiddleston VIP, we also got a Chris Hemsworth photo op and Evans/Atwell photo op. And we’re only like 60% done with purchasing photo ops. I still need to grab Sebastian Stan (WHO I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE AGAIN!!!!!!), Frank Grillo, David Duchovny, and possibly Dominic Cooper? I honestly don’t know how I’ll be able to fit all these in in a 2-day time span but we’ll see. I’ve accomplished more in less time, so I’m determined. Oh, and Sebs autograph cause duh. I’m so, so excited to head back to Philly to see everyone! It’s been so long since I’ve gotten to hang with my friends and we’re so serious about this and I just- I digress. I had to give up one con for this though; C2E2. But it’s no biggie cause this will be a million times better and I’m actually getting to meet people I’ve only ever dreamed of. It’s so funny too cause my Wizard World New Orleans trip fell through this past January (to meet Chris Evans) and now this popped up and I’m so shocked/amazed. I literally can’t even, you guys. This doesn’t feel real. AHHHH. Anyways, please expect loads of photos/updates when the time comes. Cause it’s gonna be one hell of a ride.

5 Fandom Friday: Characters I’d Name (Future) My Pets After

This weeks 5 Fandom Friday’s topic was characters we’d name our kids after. While kids are no where in my near future, I thought I’d switch it up! After seeing Usagi and Barb, I thought I’d do mine about naming my (future) pets. I’m always saving up different names for all my future pets, so here they are!

1. Bucky!

This name being on this list shocks NO ONE.

2. Stiles!

I love the character, plus it’s a great name!

3. Mulder and Scully!

Well… duh.

4. Luke!

I’d like my cat to be a rebel pilot, so…

5. LSP!

Oh my glob! I’d love to have my own little LSP running around.

Who’d you pick for YOUR 5 Fandom Friday! Leave me a comment!

Meeting Sebastian Stan!

OKAY! I’m finally getting around to writing about my meeting of Sebastian Stan! I wanted to share it all, just so you guys get an idea of what an AWESOME guy Sebastian is! So near Saturday at noon, I was on my way to get in line for Sebastian autograph. I got in line and started my wait. As we kept going up one line, I finally saw him in person! Ahhhh! I was like, “HE’S REAL!”. I have no clue why that was my initial thought. It’s just that I thought I’d never get a chance to actually see him in person, nonetheless meet him! Finally I was getting closer! They were really strict on not taking photos of him while signing, but I couldn’t help myself and took some sneaky shots. Here’s one of them:

I finally got up to him and all I could manage to say was “THANK YOU!”. Haha, I didn’t yell it, but that was my enthusiasm. AND HIS FACE. It was priceless!! My mom who was waiting near the back for me was like, “What did you say?!”. It was such a cool moment! Here’s my autograph!

I chose that photo because that was when they were filming in Cleveland! If you missed my trip to Cleveland FOR The Winter Soldier, click here! Now fast forward to an hour later and I’m in the VIP line to meet Sebastian again and get a photo! Okay… I finally make it to the front of the line and it’s my turn to go into the booth. I go in, see Sebastian, and everyone is walking up getting hugs and such. Now it’s my turn! I walk up, he shakes my hand, and I say, “Can I have a birthday hug?” and he’s like sure!! He then asked if it was my birthday, I say “Yes!!”, he then wished me a happy birthday.. then he hugged me! He then turned from the hug, arm still around me, and took this photo:

That is why my face is all “WHAT IS HAPPENING?! DID THAT JUST HAPPEN!!??”. It was such a surreal experience. After I exited the booth, I almost started crying! Crazy! Thankfully, I held it in, haha! This past weekend was so crazy! Can’t believe it actually happened! Sebastian is such a nice guy! So thankful I got a chance to meet him! 😀

#WinterSoldierWednesday: (Spoilers!) Captain America: The Winter Solider – Review!

First off, this review will be me more talking about my feelings about the movie. I’ve never been great at writing reviews. I always just end up barfing feelings. I’m also a day late, so please forgive me! Here it goes…

WARNING: This post is filled with SPOILERS! Please beware before reading on!

So I’ve seen The Winter Soldier 6 times so far… and I need to see it more! I had such high expectations for this film seeing as how I’ve been waiting 2 years for it’s release. I wasn’t sure what to expect/I knew what to expect a little bit. The opening of the movie started off with humor that I’m sure everyone is using now. “On your left.” I loved it. The scene on the boat which tied in with Agents of Shield was fantastic. Chris did an amazing job and Scarlett was more kickass than ever! (P.S. This film made me an even bigger fan of Black Widow. She’s all sorts of awesome.) Also, Anthony Mackie as The Falcon?! YES! Every actor in this movie was spectacular and brought something great to The Winter Soldier.

This movie started getting crazy when the “car chase” scene began, I lost my mind. I had no clue what was happening! I was thinking to myself, “What is Marvel doing?! WHAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW?!”, but then it got explained and I calmed down. But still, just seeing that scene unfold and then leading to Winter Soldier’s big reveal. It was amazing! Which brings me to The Winter Soldier!

As you all know, I’m a super WS fan and seeing Sebastian’s portrayal was mind blowing. How he brought so much depth and character to a character who only has a few lines is crazy. (Yes, he speaks Russian. Yes, I’m in the process of learning it.) I can’t wait to see where they go with his character. I really, really, really hope they go the comic book route. That arc is AMAZING!

I also couldn’t believe how this Marvel movie shaped the whole MCU! I wasn’t expecting SHIELD to be compromised, but it’s so cool they went for something different and new. Not only will future movies be affected, but AoS will be too. (If you missed this past weeks episode, it’s after effects have already kicked in. This past weeks episode was, without a doubt, one of the best episodes of the season. I think it’s what everyone was hoping for!)

Let’s talk about the action in this film! The bridge scene. OH MY GOD. That scene was so intense/awesome/amazing/fantastically fantastic! It’s my favorite scene in the whole movie. I jump in my seat whenever that scene is about to start. How they did all that fighting choreography and making it look so real, again, blows my mind. I never really notice the details of stuff like that in other films, but it’s so great and pops out in The Winter Soldier, you have to notice it. The scene just gets better and better and better and I hope you all loved it as much as I did!

The movie as a whole is brilliant. I know I’m biased to Marvel, but in all seriousness, if I wasn’t a Marvel fan, I’d see this movie multiple times. There’s not a slow moment. Except the beginning when they’re running (it’s really funny though!), the movie doesn’t stop with the action! I’d highly recommend this movie to everyone I know. I know they’d all enjoy it immensely. (They actually already have. I’ve drug everyone I know to the movies to see this, haha!) I’m so happy it’s doing so well and that the reviews are excellent. This films deserves it all! It’s actually now my favorite Marvel movie. Shocker, I know. I thought nothing could top The Avengers, but for me, I loved The Winter Soldier a bit more. But if you love The Avengers more, I totally understand. I mean, it’s The Avengers. 😉

I know I’m not covering all parts of the movie and it’s characters. It’s just there’s so much to cover! These Did you catch Captain America: The Winter Soldier? If so, what was your favorite scene?

#WinterSoldierWednesday: The Cleveland Premiere!

Woah! That’s one word to sum up my whole experience these past 3 days. I’m gonna try to write about all that happened, but this might get a bit long….

Okay. So as a bunch of you knew, the Cleveland premiere for Captain America: The Winter Soldier happened this past Tuesday! While the “marquee” stars weren’t set to attend, my mom was awesome about and took the challenge of the 8 hours drive it’d take to get there. I was EXCITED! I didn’t know what would happen, but I knew it’d be fun. So Monday morning we took off and about half way through the trip, my friend Charlie texted me this tweet:

Right then, we knew what we’d be doing that night! So once we arrived in Cleveland, we went and got in line at the Market Garden Brewery in the Beer Garden.

We were in line and then an hour later they started letting us in. We walked past Craig (we talked to him before about how we drove 8 hours to be there) and he said I should unzip my hoodie (I had a Cap shirt on) because they were giving 2 raffle tickets to the people with the Cap shirts. So I did that, went in, and got my two raffle tickets! We had an hour to kill before they announced the winners, so we went and ate at the Great Lakes Brewing Co. via Amy’s suggestion. I had the Cleveland Hero (I know. I was purposely being a tourist.) and it was one of the best subs I’ve ever had. Hmmm… I want one now just thinking about.

We then went back to the Market Garden Brewery for them to announce the 75 lucky winners! Once we entered the Beer Garden, we went to sit down and wait for the chance to win to see Captain America: The Winter Soldier the next day. Craig spotted us and asked if we’d spoken to the directors yet and I freaked! I knew the Russo Bros would be there that night, but I didn’t know they were there already! Then Craig asked me to come with him… and he introduced me to the The Russo Brothers! Whaaaaaaaa?! He told them how long we drove and then Joe Russo said, “Why?!” Our response was that we just came out to see what would happen. Then Joe Russo took me and my mom to the other room (there was one for the public and one for the directors and their assistants and such) and then he talked to this woman (I can’t remember her name exactly, but if she’s reading this, then THANK YOU!), came back to us, and said she’d set us up with passes for Tuesday nights screening! I couldn’t  handle it! I asked for a photo, then he called over Anthony, we took a pic, it was magical!

Then we went over to the lady and she got our names and said we’d be on the list! Whaaaaa?! I couldn’t believe it! The Russo Bros gave us tickets! I’ll never be able to thank them enough!

We still had our raffle tickets, so we thought we’d still try to win two passes for my friends Barb and Katy! We sat outside while everyone was inside as the winners were picked one by one. I was on such a high, that all I could think to do was congratulate everyone who won. I probably looked crazy clapping for each person, seeing that I was still trying to “win”, but that’s okay. THEN, during the raffle, this man (never caught his name, but he looked like the Russos body guard?) came outside and said if we didn’t win, to come find him. (Whaaaa?!!?) So by the end, we didn’t win, so my mom went to go talk to him and he said he’d do what he can. THEN, the Joe and Anthony’s sister came out to us, introduced herself and asked us who we wanted to get passes for. I FREAKED. I then gave her Barb and Katy’s name and I don’t think I stopped thanking her! She was the sweetest and was so happy she could help. I didn’t even win the raffle, but I still managed to get all four of us in.  I immediately called Barb and was FREAKING OUT in the back alley of the bar. Oh, what a night in Cleveland that was.

Fast forward to the next day:

We had breakfast at Coquette Patisserie! Also suggested by Amy! Those macarons we’re delicious and now I want more.

After a long day of exploring, it was finally time to meet up with Barb and Katy to get in line to see The Winter Soldier! We were the first ones there and nobody showed up for the longest time. I couldn’t handle it. It was hilarious. Here’s our table:

THEN WE SAW THE WINTER SOLDIER AND IT WAS THE BEST MOVIE. I just…. man! It. was. amazing. I won’t go too much into it, I’ll save that for a later post. I think I’m going to do a “FEELINGS” and “Review” post! Yeah, that sounds just about right.

Here’s us after the movie with our feels still intact…I think:

Our group was also on the news!

I’m so happy with how it all played out. I’m pretty sure we’d be disappointed in that “red carpet”, so at least we all got to see the movie! Now it’s Thursday, so it’s almost time to see it again tonight! Woo! I’m so ready to go on that emotional roller coaster again. (Sarcasm!) No, but really, I’m so excited to see it again!!

Without you, seeing the movie would’ve been impossible! So, THANK YOU!! Craig also reviews movies, so make sure to check out his Winter Soldier review here and check out his site here!

Charlie: Thank you for texting me that tweet. It changed EVERYTHING!

Barb and Katy: I’m so happy I got to see The Winter Soldier with you guys! It was such a fun experience!!

My Mom: I wouldn’t have been able to go if it wasn’t for you, so thank you for driving and listening to all my rants about Winter Soldier, Bucky Barnes, and Sebastian Stan! 😉

As you can tell, The Winter Soldier meant a lot to movie. I don’t think I’ve ever anticipated a movie THIS much! So thanks for reading my ramblings about the premiere. If you’ve seen The Winter Soldier, feel free to leave a comment with your favorite NON-SPOILER moment!
